What is Restylane?
Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler that replaces lost volume and restores youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corner of your mouth. Restylane contains no animal proteins and is made of hyaluronic acid, which your body naturally has but diminishes with age. Restylane is FDA approved.
How is Restylane administered?
First a topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. Restylane is then injected into the skin using an ultra fine needle. As with all injections, some patients may experience some discomfort.
How long does Restylane last?
The length of time Restylane stays in your system varies for each individual, but we suggest a follow-up appointment be made five months after the treatment is performed. Also, no debris is left behind as the product is broken down by your body.
